Cissus discolor Rex Begonia is a beautiful foliage plant with pearlescent silver toned patterns on green leaves with burgundy undersides. A tropical vine that climbs by its dark red tendrils. You can easily train it to a form or let it grow in a basket.
Discolor can reach heights of 5-6’. This is my favorite tropical vine hands down. Grow in zones 9 and 10 and higher with freeze protection.
To ensure our plants are disease free, we grow hybridized and grow them from tissue cultures.

Indoor Growing Instructions
Written Instructions
First, mix together the following:
- 60 percent potting soil
- 20 percent peat moss
- 20 percent coarse sand and a handful of perlite
Then, place this mixture in a pots, beds or garden and plant your Cissus Discolor.
Additionally, plant Cissus Discolor 3′ apart in an area that has bright direct light. Keep soil ph at around 6.0 – 7.0. Grow in zones 8b-10.
Discolor is moderately drought tolerant. Fertilize with organic fertilizer with an NPK ratio of 5-5-5 or lower.
In the event that drip irrigation is used, allow the soil to dry slightly between waterings.
Often, Cissus Discolor are also refered to as Rexbegonia vine. Cissus Discolor grow from shoots or seeds. There are several different varieties of Cissus Discolor species. Additionally, Discolor produces small flowers that bloom in the spring time.
